Tasting Notes
"The next in our long-revered and recently revived v-series is brewed with our friends from Uchu Brewing in Japan. Uchu are pushing boundaries with some of the most heavily hopped hazy IPAs in the world, and DIPA v15 is inspired by their Limit Break series.
Designed to trial a new production process and also max out both hops and oats, for a delicious beer saturated in hop flavour, v15 uses one of our favourite combinations of hops — Citra, Motueka and New Zealand Cascade.
This may be nearing peak v-series geekery, but we are extremely excited to have introduced a double-batch, dual-FV process to produce two different base beers to blend into the final beer. The first maximised hopping at 48g/l, and the second we’ve coined Oat Break as it takes Uchu’s Limit Break philosophy and applies it to the freshest, creamiest, most luscious oats.
Together both average out at over 40 g/l dry hop and 50% oats, producing an insanely fully flavoured and punchy DIPA, but one that retains balance and poise thanks to our innovative Oat Break double-batch dual-FV process.
Aromas of peach, pineapple and vinous grape that recall New Zealand white wine tops out a body that is all hop juice, mango syrup, nectarine and finished with dank resins — pure murk squeezed out of beautiful hops."
