Bristol was once renowned for its milk stouts; the water profile of the city perfectly suited the chemistry required to make the smoothest, most satisfying beers. Within the craft beer movement, Wiper and True were early adopters of the style, and have now been brewing their signature stout Milk Shake for almost a decade. Their cask recipe for this luxurious beer is rich, satisfying, and ridiculously smooth. Its toasty, dark roasted malt flavours provide great depth of flavour, keeping the drinker sipping, whilst the sweetness provided by lactose rounds out the beer perfectly. A touch of vanilla is the real cherry on the cake.
