In the USA, it's been the 'norm' for many years for beers to be served in cans but over here more & more breweries are adding cans to their lineups. The main reasons being they’re cheap, they travel well, & they keep damaging light from hitting their beloved beer inside.
Canning craft beer is a trend that began in the US back in 2002, when Colorado-based brewery, Oskar Blues, decided to say goodbye to bottles. Yet some styles of beers & some styles of breweries don't trust cans. It seems like the cans vs bottles war will wage on for a while yet. Now, back on home soil, Tottenham-based brewery, Beavertown, led the way when it came to introducing top-quality canned beer to the UK market – altering perceptions about what sits inside the shiny metal shell.
