The first in a new series of Imperial Stouts based on niche desserts from around the UK. This time it’s Bolton’s “Aussie Crunch”; a chocolatey, coconutty, syrupy flapjack thing with a thick layer of chocolate on top. A super-complex TEN malt base, a few little tricks we’ve picked up over the years, plus cacao nibs, cacao husks, coconut chips and tonka beans; we think it’s uncanny. And delicious.
