A clear, practical view of how we reduce our environmental impact and where we are still working to improve.
At Inn Express, we know that supplying drinks has an environmental impact. Products need to be made, packaged, stored and delivered, and every step has a footprint. We do not pretend otherwise, and we are not interested in bold claims that cannot be backed up.
Our focus is on making sensible decisions, improving where we can, and being open about what we are doing today and what still needs work. This statement explains our approach to environmental responsibility and sits within our wider commitment to responsible business, which is set out in our Sustainability Statement.
Across our warehouses and offices, we separate recyclable materials such as cardboard, glass and plastics. We also work to reduce avoidable waste by improving stock handling, storage and forecasting, helping to cut down on damaged or unsellable products.
We favour suppliers who use recyclable or widely recycled packaging and we challenge packaging that does not serve a clear purpose. Where we have direct input into packaging choices, we aim to use materials that are practical, recyclable and appropriate for the product.
Deliveries are one of the biggest sources of environmental impact in our business. We plan routes carefully to avoid unnecessary mileage and keep vehicles running efficiently. We have recently upgraded our routing system so vehicles are on the road only for the time they need to be, helping to reduce fuel use and emissions.
We aim to reduce energy and water use across our sites through sensible controls and everyday awareness. When we invest in new equipment or make changes to our facilities, environmental performance is part of the decision making process.
We work closely with producers and suppliers and encourage clear, honest conversations about environmental practices. We avoid vague claims and look for partners who are open about what they are doing, rather than those who promise perfection.
When we talk about environmental issues, we aim to be clear and accurate. We avoid exaggeration and do not describe our business or our products in ways we cannot support. If something is still a work in progress, we say so.
As our business grows and changes, we review our environmental impact and look for realistic ways to improve. We believe steady progress matters more than grand statements, and that responsibility comes from consistency and honesty over time.
This statement reflects how we operate today and the direction we are committed to taking, with the aim of reducing our environmental impact in a way that is practical, transparent and credible.
